How Fire Suppression Made California Fires Worse

California is notorious for its wildfires. A legacy of fire suppression and a changing climate have led to an increase in the number and severity of forest fires across the state. This six-part series from director Ben Hemmings and One Tree Planted, a nonprofit organization focused on global reforestation, explores the history of California’s forests as well as the challenges involved in addressing the increasing threat of catastrophic wildfires there.
